    Students who have attended liberal arts, engineering or community colleges and will have completed the required prerequisite courses by the term of admission, should apply using this link.

How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in applying to the University of Michigan College of Engineering. Please review the following guidelines that outline the different types of applicants:

 

Applicants who have never attended any institution of higer education following high school graduation should apply as a freshman applicant. Freshman students are admitted to the College of Engineering by the University of Michigan Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Applicants with previous college experience that have met the prerequisite requirements for College of Engineering transfer admission should apply as an External Domestic Student, an External International Student, or a Cross-Campus Transfer Student.

External Domestic Students

External Domestic students, are those who are not enrolled in a unit of the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus and who seek admission with advanced standing.

External International Students

External International students are those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, and are not enrolled in a unit of the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus who seek admission with advanced standing.

Cross-Campus
Students transferring directly from another U of M - Ann Arbor school or college, having completed coursework at the U of M - Ann Arbor campus only.

*If you are a current student at U of M - Ann Arbor with more than 55 credit hours OR have completed more than one course at another college or university, the guidelines for Combined Cross-Campus transfer apply.

Combined Cross-Campus

Students who have exceeded 55 credit hours at the U of M - Ann Arbor OR students currently enrolled in another U of M - Ann Arbor school or college who have previously attended a college or university apart from U of M - Ann Arbor.

Special/Non-Degree

Students who are enrolled at another college or university and are interested in taking engineering classes here but will not purse a degree at Michigan Engineering.

Readmit

Previous Michigan Engineering students who have not completed a degree and have not been enrolled for twelve (12) months or more.

Students who have attended liberal arts, engineering or community colleges and will have completed the required prerequisite courses by the term of admission, should apply using our Web application.
