See how your gift helps to shape our work.
At Michigan Engineering, we seek to educate intellectually curious and socially conscious students, pioneer new technologies with a people-first approach, and create a collaborative and inclusive culture for our faculty, students and staff.
Philanthropic gifts provide the critical resources to achieve these aspirations and make a meaningful difference to all Michigan Engineers. See how your gift to people, programs & research, and environments helps to shape our work.
Student support gifts provide a broad range of opportunities that enrich the lives and education of our students everyday. For undergraduate students, scholarships provide a financial path to attendance and reward exceptional academic achievement. For graduate students, fellowships ensure students are equipped to become expert problem solvers who are tackling the challenges of the 21st century.
Dedicated to educating and inspiring the next generation of scientific and technological leaders, Michigan Engineer’s more than 600 faculty members are pioneers in both the classroom and the lab. By endowing a professorship, donors can help us recognize a faculty member’s exceptional achievement and leadership, provide discretionary income for research and other scholarly activity and recruit the best talent.
Programs and Research
Engineering OnRamp (EO) strives to provide greater educational opportunities for middle and high school students including individuals from educational, cultural, geographic, or socioeconomic backgrounds that are underrepresented in engineering. The program takes a holistic approach to learning that is focused on STEM education, personal and professional development, and college readiness. Your gift to EO helps students to discover engineering as a profession and choose Michigan Engineering as the place where they want to prepare for their future.
The Student Experience
Our students are driven by a commitment to serve the common good through solutions that push the bounds of what is possible. We immerse our students in a collection of carefully designed experiential learning opportunities, giving them a living lab within which to develop the professional competencies that make them better engineers. These experiences are all part of Michigan Engineering’s Experiential Learning Framework (ELF), which guides students to understand their experiences in a larger context. Through philanthropic gifts, our donors help to enrich our students’ Michigan experience and prepare them to step into the future with confidence, cultural awareness and a collaborative spirit.
From sustainable energy to healthcare to cybersecurity, Michigan Engineering is dedicated to solving the world’s toughest challenges. Through innovation and risk-taking, our faculty and students aspire to design solutions that will serve the common good for future generations. Donor gifts are critical to the College’s research efforts and our success in advancing technological discovery.
A thriving, state-of-the-art environment is crucial to the ongoing success of our students and faculty. Every year, donors provide support for essential campus enhancements and new facilities. These gifts ensure that we have the classrooms, laboratories, offices and collaborative spaces needed to continually advance breakthroughs that benefit the common good.
