Annual Giving:
By the Numbers
Every gift is important to us. Here’s a snapshot of how donor gifts from $1 to $25,000 translated individual philanthropy into collective impact during the 2024-2025 year.

Sharing the Impact
Experiential Education
Students are encouraged to enrich their academic experience by engaging in extra- and co-curricular activities. The College of Engineering offers a variety of study abroad programs, research opportunities, and more than 180 organizations and competitive project teams where students can pursue experiential learning, cultivate leadership abilities, and connect with peers. The generosity of our donor community is instrumental in making these experiences possible, broadening their education well beyond the classroom.

Undergraduate Scholarship Support
Gifts to the Michigan Engineering Fund Scholarships enabled us to award a total of $430,000 for 23 undergraduate scholarships during the 2024-2025 academic year. This essential resource alleviates financial burden, enables students to concentrate more fully on their academic and extracurricular development, and recognizes them for their academic excellence.
“I am incredibly grateful for your generous support through this scholarship. Your investment is making a vital impact on my education and future as an aerospace engineering student at the University of Michigan. It has allowed me to focus on my studies, engage in research, and explore opportunities that would not have been possible without this financial help.”
Makayla Williams,
Class of 2028

Comprehensive Support Services
Expanding access to wellness and academic support programs—such as mentorship, career readiness activities, and well-being resources—remains a key priority at the College of Engineering. One meaningful way donors help advance this commitment is through gifts to the Engineering Critical Needs Fund, which provides immediate, flexible assistance to students navigating unexpected financial challenges like emergency travel or housing costs. In the past year alone, the fund delivered almost $30,000 in assistance to our student community.
Department Initiatives
Many Michigan Engineering donors choose to direct their annual gifts to the departments that shaped their own academic and professional paths. With nearly 1,000 donors to department annual funds this past year, these targeted contributions allowed our 13 departments to enhance student programming, create new learning opportunities, and respond to emerging priorities.

Thank you.
Whether supporting the College as a whole or a specific discipline, your gift strengthens the foundation upon which our students build their success. We are deeply grateful for your partnership in preparing the next generation of engineers to lead, innovate, and make a difference in our communities.
