The stories below capture the strong relationship that our donor community has with our students. You are part of this community and we can only thrive with your support.
For Enabling Campus Involvement
Michigan Engineering students are extremely grateful for the alumni support that they receive through scholarships, class gifts, buildings and places on campus, lab space and project funds. One such student is Jenna Bertke, BSE IOE ’13. Her involvement on campus is a direct result of the opportunities provided by gifts like yours.
“I am grateful for all Michigan has given me. I have had endless opportunities to get involved on campus, helping me find my community here at the University. My involvement in the Society of Women Engineers, the Career Fair and Engineering Student Ambassadors has been incredible and has truly shaped my Michigan experience. I hope that future students will be able to enjoy similar experiences. Michigan Engineering Creative Community Fund provides a targeted resource to support student programs and activities that inspire new ways of thinking. This includes the College’s nearly 100 student teams and organizations, opportunities for every undergraduate to have an international educational experience and outreach efforts such as helping high-school robotics teams at the Michigan Engineering Zone in Detroit. Your support of the Creative Community Fund makes a difference for the College and helps sustain these initiatives. Of course, I have had an outstanding education, and I have learned so much from meeting and teaming with students from different backgrounds. However, the experiences and opportunities that I have had outside of the classroom have been some of my best memories at Michigan. I hope you will do what you can to help the College encourage creative collaboration. Thanks for your support, and GO BLUE!”
For Keeping Michigan on the Cutting Edge
As a Michigan Engineering alumnus, Andrew Humphrey knows that our world-class college maintains its leadership position and continues to attract exceptional students year after year.
“Do you know how that’s possible?” asks Humphrey, now a WDIV-TV meteorologist and journalist. Students know the answer—it’s people like you.
Thank you for providing the resources for financial assistance for deserving students, endowments and programs; For the funding for first rate equipment and labs and opportunities for students to participate in team projects. Your generosity ensures that michigan stays on the cutting edge, continues to attract the brightest students and provides them with the tools, the knowledge and the real world experience to engineer solutions to the challenges of the future.
