Check Application

Once we receive your application and transfer supplement from The Common Application, you will receive a confirmation email that contains a U-M ID and instructions for checking the status of your application and the receipt of transcripts.

Please note: During times of high application volume, it may take up to one week for transcripts to be recorded and for application status to be updated.

Once you receive the email with your U-M ID, you can create a U-M Friend Account to check your application status:

For New Applicants to U-M

  1. Create a secure login ID by creating a U-M Friend Account using a valid email address that you will provide. The Friend Account is your login ID to access your admissions application.
  2. Upon receiving a confirmation in your email account, go to Wolverine Access. Click on “New & Prospective Student Business” and login using your newly created login (your email address) and password. You will then need to verify your personal information, including your 8-digit University of Michigan ID which was sent to you in an email confirming the receipt of your application, as well as your birth date.
  3. Click on the “View Application Status” tab and begin verifying your application information.
  4. If any part of your application is not correct, please notify us as soon as possible by calling (734) 647-7101.

For Applicants Who Already Have a U-M Uniqname

  1. Go to Wolverine Access.
  2. Click on the “New & Prospective Student Business” link.
  3. Login using your existing University of Michigan uniqname.
  4. Click on the “View Application Status” tab and begin verifying your application information.
  5. If any part of your application is not correct, please notify us as soon as possible by calling (734) 647-7101.
