All transcripts or mark sheets must be provided by the institution or Controller of Examinations and bear a seal and a signature, in ink, of an authorized official of the institution (such as the Registrar or Recorder of Records). Academic records certified by notary publics are not official.

An official secondary school record, or attested copy, that shows completion of an accredited secondary school series equivalent to that of a U.S. high school is required. In addition, an official copy of final examinations taken at the end of the secondary school program is needed.

Country specific requirements for secondary school credentials:

Austria – Maturazeugnis, Reifezeugnis, Matura

Australia – Board of Studies Statement of Results leading to one of the following is required: Higher School Certificate, Western Australia Certificate of Education, Victoria Certificate of Education, South Australia Certificate of Education, or Australian Capitol Territory Certificate. Tertiary Entrance Exam Rank is also required along with any of the above certificates.

Belgium – Certificat de maturité (Certificat d’aptitude a l’enseignement superieur)

British-Patterned Education (U.K., East and West Africa, Caribbean area, East Asia) – General Certificate of Secondary Education(GCSE), or a comparable maturity certificate (GCE, CXC, SPM, HKCEE, IGCSE, WASC, EASC, etc.). Students sitting for any “A” or “A/S” level examinations should submit a certified copy of exam results.

Bulgaria – Diploma za Zavarsheno

Latin America – bachillerato or comparable certificate.

China – Senior high school graduation diploma or National Matriculation Test

Commonwealth of Independent States – Matura/Attestat o Srednem Obrazovanii

Cyprus – Apolytirion; Devlet lise diplomasi; GCSE

Czech Republic – Matura

Denmark – Bevis for Studentereksamen; Hojere Forberedelseseksamen

Finland – Ylioppilastutkintotodistus; Studentexamensbetyg

Germany – Abitur (Zeugnis der allgemeinen Hochschulreife) or Abitur (Leistungskurse Prufungsfacher)

Greece – Apolytirion

Hungary – Matura (Gimnaziumi erettsegi bizonyitvany)

Iceland – Studentsprof

Israel – Bagrut Examination Scores and Certificate.

Indonesia – STTB diploma from an SMA high school.

India – A certificate representing 12 years of academic education (Examples: All India Senior School Certificate, Indian School Certificate, Delhi Senior School Certificate, Higher Secondary Certificate).

Kazakhstan – Atestat (Certificate of Complete Secondary Education)

Korea – High school diploma

Mexico – Bachillerato

Middle East – Completion of the national secondary school certificate (Examples: General Secondary School Certificate, Tawjihi, June written examinations.)

New Zealand – NCEA Level 3 and any Level 4 results from New Zealand Qualification Authority.

Saudi Arabia – Tawjihiyah (General Secondary Education Certificate)

Ukraine – Atestat/Matriculation School Certificate

United Arab Emirates – Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-Amma (Secondary School Leaving Certificate)
