Background and Experience
Laurie Altman has 36 years of experience with 3M, and has held a variety of laboratory, manufacturing and international assignments since joining the company in 1981. She is presently the vice president and general manager for the Automotive Aftermarket Division in 3M’s Industrial Business Group. Prior to this appointment, Laurie was vice president and general manager for the Construction and Home Improvement Markets Division at 3M. She has held managing director assignments for 3M in both New Zealand and Australia. Laurie graduated from the University of Michigan with a BSE in Chemical Engineering and then completed an MSE in Chemical Engineering at Notre Dame prior to joining 3M. She also holds an MBA in Finance from The Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She serves on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan and also the 3M Foundation.
