Offers
Receive an offer, review terms and consult with ECRC and IPE Advisors as needed.
Obtain an offer in writing via letter or e-mail. Offers should include dates of work, name of organization and department, name of supervisor and contact information, compensation, travel support (if any), nature of living arrangements and basic description of the work.
Once received, evaluate the offer carefully. Does the job meet your educational objectives and/or learning goals? Is the location acceptable? Does the work provide you with the experience you would like? Do you feel positive about the organization and the supervisor? Is the total financial package within your plan?
Discuss the offer with advisors from ECRC and IPE. Share the offer with trusted advisors and friends. Listen to their advice and opinions.
Reply to the offer as soon as possible but certainly meet the date requested by the employer. If you have a reason for delay, explain this to your prospective employer to minimize misinterpretation of your intentions. If other organizations have extended offers, let them know as soon as you accept one.
Inform the CoE when you accept an offer by completing the CoE Work Abroad Registry, and make sure you submit your finalized Learning Plan to the ECRC.
