The University of Michigan College of Engineering is a global leader in engineering education and research. Whether you are a prospective freshmen, a current U-M student, or a transfer or international student, we encourage you to spend some time on this website to learn more about applying to the College of Engineering.
Prospective Freshmen – is an applicant who hasn't attended any institution of higher education following high school. Freshmen students are admitted to the College of Engineering by the University of Michigan Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Transfer Student – is an applicant who has taken higher education courses after high school graduation on any basis for any period of time.
International Student – is an applicant that is not a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent resident, or does not speak English as a native language, or has attended a post-secondary (beyond high school) institution of higher education outside the United States .
Cross-Campus Student - is an applicant interested in transferring directly from another U of M - Ann Arbor school or college. Applicants from UM-Flint and UM-Dearborn are considered Transfer Students
