Welcome to Michigan Engineering

The University of Michigan College of Engineering is a global leader in engineering education and research. Whether you are a prospective freshman, a current U-M student, or a transfer or international student, we encourage you to spend some time on our website to learn more about applying to the College of Engineering.

Prospective Freshman – is an applicant who hasn't attended any institution of higher education following high school.

Transfer Student – is an applicant who has taken higher education courses after high school graduation on any basis for any period of time. Applicants from UM-Flint and UM-Dearborn are considered Transfer Students.

International Transfer Student – is an applicant who is not a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident, or does not speak English as a native language, or who has attended a post-secondary (beyond high school) institution of higher education outside the United States.

Cross-Campus Student - is an applicant interested in transferring to the College of Engineering from another U-M Ann Arbor school or college.
