The University of Michigan Formula SAE Team - M RACING - consists of a group of students that enter an open cockpit,single seater formula style race car in the annual Formula SAE Competition. The competition consists of the following events: safety event, cost event, design event, presentation event, acceleration event, skidpad event, autocross event and endurance event. The target market the car is developed for is the weekend autocrosser. Therefore, it must be of high performance, easily maintainable, and have a low cost.
