Safety Suggestion Form


Purpose of Student Projects Safety Committee (SPSC)

  1. To facilitate and encourage student knowledge about safe work practices and accident prevention.
  2. To address safety and health issues common to all team members.
  3. To provide an opportunity for team members to discuss health and safety problems or concerns they may be facing.
  4. To identify and implement possible solutions to health and safety problems brought to the attention of the SPSC.

Goals/Objectives for SPSC

Hold monthly meetings with designated team member. Topics will include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Issues/concerns with facility safety
  2. Questions regarding PPE
  3. Training on specific topics
  4. UM resources - i.e. other facilities or equipment available outside WSTPC
  5. Other team safety concerns/questions
  6. New SOP review
  7. Accident/incident review - individual team accidents as well as CoE lab accidents
  8. Review results of quarterly safety inspections
