*Sessions will begin promptly at the time indicated. Please arrive on time.

Training for new Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs) is by invitation only from your department. If you have accepted a new GSI appointment for Fall 2009 you are REQUIRED to attend the all-day Teacher Training Program that is scheduled on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) Bldg. In addition to the training program on September 3, all new GSIs are REQUIRED to attend one of the Advanced Practice Teaching sessions with an active learning emphasis that are offered on the following days in the Chrysler Center:

Wednesday, September 16, 2009 2:45p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 2:45p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

5:00p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

For assistance in preparing your Advanced Practice Teaching session please visit the following site: Practice Teaching Site.

Any new GSI who does not complete the training and one active learning practice teaching session will not be allowed to serve as a CoE GSI for Fall 2009.

Please note: training requirements for undergraduate assistants may vary slightly. Your departmental Graduate Coordinator will notify you of requirements if they are different than above.
