Grace Hopper Project

What is it?
The Grace Hopper Project is an exciting one-week non-residential program designed for students who will complete the 9th, 10th grade by June, 2008. This project is sponsored by the Women in Science and Engineering Program at the University of Michigan, College of Engineering.

This program is designed to encourage students to consider careers in science and engineering. All students are welcome to apply.

Participants will meet other students with interests in computers, science, math and engineering - and visit neat sites on campus to find out how computers:

When and where is it?
The Grace Hopper Project will be held on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor.

Monday - Friday, July  14 - July 18,  2008  8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Who is Eligible to Apply?
You are eligible to apply for The Grace Hopper Project  if:

  • You will complete the 9th, 10th  grade by June, 2008
  • You have an interest in computer science or computer engineering
  • No previous experience with computers, computer science or engineering is required

What is the cost?
Tuition for the Grace Hopper Project is $200 for a one-week, five day session. Tuition includes five full days of program activities from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM plus all instructional costs, supplies and materials.

A limited number of partial scholarships are available to applicants who document need. To apply, please complete the scholarship request form and return it with your application.
