FIND A FACULTY FOR THE FUTURE MENTOR! http://www.engr.psu.edu/fff/ The Faculty for the Future website provides a complete line of services for students(or individuals) searching for academic and research positions, as well as for academic and research institutes looking for qualified candidates to fill various positions.
Candidates who are interested in finding academic positions at higher education institutions and faculty who are interested in finding qualified candidates have to first register with the Faculty For The Future website. During registration, they can choose a username and password, which will allow them to access the secured database. Users will logon to the website using their username and password. The database can be accessed once they have logged on to the website. For candidates there is resume entry form to post information to the database. Upon agreement to the terms and conditions and submission of the resume, faculty members, administrators and search committees from participating institutions will then be able to search the database using specific keywords to find resumes in the database. For those searching for candidates for faculty, research or post doc positions, graduate students and/or undergraduate research programs, registration will lead to access to a place to post positions and view resume of candidates. Faculty who are past FFF fund recipients may also search the resume database.
This program is designed to provide information, encouragement and support to graduate students and postdocs in engineering, science and business who are considering faculty careers. Proteges are matched in one-on-one e-mentoring relationships with tenured faculty members and are provided with the training, coaching and support for an 8 month mentoring relationship. The whole program, from sign up to the mentoring relationship itself, is run via the web and e-mail.
