FORD MOTOR COMPANY SUMMER ENGINEERING INSTITUTE

The Ford Motor Company Summer Engineering Institute (Ford SEI) provides an exciting summer program for entering first-year Michigan Engineering students. SEI is a great way to meet fellow incoming students, learn Michigan's campus and get ready for a challenging first year. As an incoming first-year student, you may opt to participate in the Professionals-in-Trainig Program (PTP). Through this program, you will gain knowledge, have fun, and be ready to tackle your classes in the fall.

As a Ford Motor Company SEI student, you will:

  • Learn about engineering from students, professors and professionals who are interested in your future.
  • Solve challenging problems through team-building activities that show you what engineering is really like.
  • Prepare for a promising career through classes that challenge your intellect and individualized attention geared to your ability level.


Program Descriptions:

Professionals-in-Training Program (PTP)
PTP is a six-week residential program for students who will be first-year students at the University of Michigan in the upcoming school year. The curriculum emphasizes academic, personal and professional success and is structured to provide classes in mathematics, computer programming, communication skills, and introduction to engineering.
