What Does the Liaison Do?
- Provides support for students in addressing concerns by offering options and facilitating resolutions
- Provides a respectful, informal, safe and discreet environment
- Makes appropriate referrals for mediation, counseling, and dispute resolution services, and assists in creating a supportive network for students
- Hears concerns and complaints about the functioning of the College of Engineering including its policies, procedures and climate
- Promotes the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills in resolving conflicts
- Gathers information relevant to the concern (with permission from the student)
- Identifies broader systemic problems and makes recommendations to the College
