What Does the Liaison Do?

  • Provides support for students in addressing concerns by offering options and facilitating resolutions
  • Provides a respectful, informal, safe and discreet environment
  • Makes appropriate referrals for mediation, counseling, and dispute resolution services, and assists in creating a supportive network for students
  • Hears concerns and complaints about the functioning of the College of Engineering including its policies, procedures and climate
  • Promotes the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills in resolving conflicts
  • Gathers information relevant to the concern (with permission from the student)
  • Identifies broader systemic problems and makes recommendations to the College
