  • Discretion Policy

Discretion Policy

Discreetness is a key characteristic of the CoE Graduate Student Liaison's Office.  Records are maintained for statistical reasons only, and are shared exclusively with the Associate Dean for Graduate Education.  If asked to intervene in a situation, the Liaison will not divulge a visitor's name or the nature of the issues being discussed without the visitor's written consent.  However, there are two exceptions in which the Liaison may need to reveal your personal information without your consent-- in the unusual situation of imminent risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or in the case where the Liaison's records are subpoenaed by a court of law.  Beyond these two exceptions, every effort will be made to ensure the privacy of visitors during and after meetings with the Liaison.
