Internships and Co-ops
Co-operative Education Program
The Co-op Program is an eight-month program that places students with a variety of companies and organizations. Students have the opportunity to participate in a working environment, gaining valuable hands-on knowledge and practical skills in their field of study. Typically, students have completed their Sophomore year and work for two semesters. Many companies that participate in the Co-op Program use the program to develop potential future employees, frequently offering permanent positions to former co-op students upon graduation.
Summer Internships provide students with an opportunity to learn about the engineering profession from observation and participation during the spring/summer semester. Students can apply for internships as early as the summer following the first year; internships generally run from May through August although their are a few exceptions. Many of the companies that conduct on-campus interviews are seeking to fill not only permanent positions but also summer internships. Students may search HireME for internship job postings and search HireME for on-campus internship interviews.
