The Class of 2008

Hey, Seniors! It's amazing that graduation is just around the corner, isn't it? This is a good time to sit back and reflect on our time here. We have just spent four years (or for some of us, five) at one of the top engineering programs in the country and are walking away with an amazing education. The possibilities are truly endless. And because of our time spent wisely here, we will be able to go forth and make a tangible difference in the world.

Our Class Gift

Many students don't realize that tuition and fees only cover 44% of their education. The remaining cost is covered, in part, by private donations to the College of Engineering.

In addition, many admitted Engineering students decline their admission to the College because they cannot bear the financial burden of tuition. Other times enrolled students must leave the College because of unexpected financial difficulties. Today, our class has the power to make a difference and assist a fellow student in reaching their goals, even in the face of hardship. This will enable the College of Engineering to enhance the caliber of enrolled students, and help increase the future value of our own degree.

For these reasons, the Senior Class would like to endow the "2008E Scholarship Fund."  The scholarship will provide support to a junior and senior student who is enrolled full-time in the College of Engineering and maintains a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

In order to begin the fund, we must raise $10,000.  We need the support of every senior engineering student to help accomplish this goal. In order to start the scholarship, we need to raise $10,000 by May 2009.

Please make your pledge today and help make a difference in the lives of future students. If we raise less than $10,000, our donations will still be put to good use by funding furnishings in the new student conference room in the Chrysler Center.

Help us reach our goal of $10,000!
