Student Self-Nomination Process
This process was instituted to ensure qualified students are not overlooked and that department faculty and staff (who are involved in the nomination process) have enough information to select a nominee.
Personal statements are required for self-nominations. This component of your application is meant to highlight your specific experiences and qualifications in mroe detail. It should be 1-2 pages in length, written in a professional style, and free of grammatical errors. Be sure that your content reflects how you are a good candidate for the specific award to which you are applying. Use your personal statement to communicate to the awards committee what makes you uniquely deserving of the award.
If you would like to nominate yourself for an award or prize, complete the nomination form and submit the requested information by the posted deadline. Nominations are then sent to your department Honors Committee to select nominees for final consideration.
