February 2004 GEM/Black Engineer of the Year Student Leadership Award
Alessandra Ennett, PhD student in Biomedical Engineering, is to receive the GEM/Black Engineer of the Year Student Leadership Award for demonstrating leadership in engineering. Alessandra was recently nominated by her department and the Office of Graduate Education for this outstanding award. GEM is the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science. The University of Michigan receives the second highest number of GEM fellowships in the US, and this is the second straight year one of our graduate engineering students will receive the award.
