Panel presentations:

  • (5 min.) Panelist 1: Networking & Other Resources for finding academic jobs
  • (5 min.) Panelist 2: Your advisor's role in your academic job search
  • (5 min.) Panelist 3: Post-docs vs. Assistant Professors

Panel discussion: (45 min.) Academic job search timeline, frequently asked questions during interviews, what the faculty look for in hiring, and general Q & A

Small group discussions: (45 min.) Students break into small groups with 1 faculty member each to discuss individual issues/questions.

Wrap-up: (5 min.) Fill out surveys


Session 2: Managing your Research Group
