Preparing for the Advising Session
Your career at the College of Engineering is your education, and you should be involved in planning it. Make sure that you make an appointment early to meet with an advisor. Here are some things that you should do to prepare for your advising session
- Jot down some short range and long range career plans
- Develop and prepare a list of courses and several alternate courses that you would like to take
- Your Engineering peer advisor will act as a student guide and review your schedule with you before you meet with the academic/faculty advisor
- Read through the College of Engineering Bulletin and the 1st Year Handbook
- Think of questions you want/need answers to
