Minors

The College of Engineering offers two academic minors and a co-curricular program to complement our undergraduate engineering degrees.

International Minor

The International Minor addresses the need for engineers who can combine technical expertise with international understanding.  The International Minor requirements include foreign language proficiency, coursework on non-U.S. countries, intercultural communication skills, and global trends in engineering and business.   Student must also pursue practical overseas experience through study, work or volunteer abroad.  The minor requires 16-20 credits to complete, depending on the foreign language elected.

Multidisciplinary Design Minor

This minor allows undergraduate engineering students to obtain practical hands-on experience designing, building, and testing technology systems in collaboration with students from other disciplines both inside and outside of engineering. The minor can be satisfied with 15 credits of coursework associated with specialized multidisciplinary team projects and including competitive teams such as Solar Car, Steel Bridge, and Human-Powered Submarines.
