Honors Programs

Engineering Global Leadership (EGL) Honors Program

The Engineering Global Leadership (EGL) Honors Program combines a traditional engineering undergraduate curriculum with a core of courses in the Ross School of Business and a cultural core in the College of Literature, Arts and Sciences. During the five-year program, EGL Honors students earn both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering. Students can apply for EGL in the Fall of their sophomore or junior year. A minimum 3.60 cumulative GPA and a personal interview are required for admission. In addition to bachelor's and master's engineering degree requirements, EGL students take twelve credits of humanities/social sciences associated with their chosen cultural core region; two semesters of the same second-year foreign language (related to the cultural core region); twelve credits in the Ross School of Business; and a business and engineering internship prior to graduation. As global competency becomes increasingly important in today's workplace, EGL students may study or work abroad to satisfy some of the cultural core and language requirements. For more information, please contact the International Programs in Engineering Office.
