Sunrayce 99: Day Nine
Well, we finally finished "Sunrayce 99: The Weather That Wouldn't Die!" It looks like we finished the day in 27th place, other than that there probably won't be any info until tomorrow. The car will
be on display at Epcot along with several others for the next few days.
Overall, the team had a really fun time, despite the weather. Our car suffered no breakdowns (unlike our chase van), and we received no penalties.
The Team would like to thank all our sponsors, our families and friends and the folks at Sunrayce for helping us out and cheering us on. It will probably take us a week to get things back in order a
nd have some photos and detailed writeups on the website. In the meantime, GO BLUE!
The final leg of the race is an 82 mile sprint from Ocala, FL to Epcot Center in Orlando. Thunderstorms are the flavor of the day in Florida; yet another rotten day is in the works.
Day Eight Recap:
Day eight was the final straw for all 29 teams in the field; not a single car finished the day under its own power. Our trailer finished in 23 place on the day, dropping us to 12th overall.
