Math Classrooms Not Designed To Teach Math?
Problem description: Why aren’t all classrooms stadium seating? Sitting the back of a crowded classroom, it is nearly impossible to see the board through the students sitting in front of you. The classrooms in Dennison and East Hall in particular hold between thirty to sixty students, organized with rows of desks facing the front chalk board. The students sitting in the last rows have no way of clearly seeing all the formulas displayed.

These pictures were taken from sitting the last row of an arbitrary classroom in East Hall. The students sitting in the front row block the bottom third of the board, and the students sitting in the row directly in front block about half the board.
Proposed solution: My proposed solution is to build two platforms, one 1 foot tall, and the other 2 feet tall, and place the middle third of the desks and chairs on the 1-foot tall platform and the back third of the desks and chairs on the 2-foot tall platform. This would allow students to be able to see the information on board without having to stand up to see over the other students’ heads or fight for a front-row seat.
