Each point will correlate to about one half hour of devotion to Alpha Sigma Mu related events in most cases. Points are assigned as listed below: - 1 point for attendance in each Alpha Sigma Mu chapter meeting, held bi-weekly. (Note: If Regular Member has reasonable explanation for absence in chapter meeting, he/she may apply for consideration in point reimbursement by chapter officers). - 2 points per hour of tutoring. - 3 points for attending ASM (American Society for Metals) monthly dinner meetings, usually located at the Vladimir's restaurant in Farmington Hills. - Points are to be assigned by chapter officers per event (roughly 2 points per hour of service). At the end of the academic school year (end of Spring semester), active members will be recognized at Michigan's annual Materials Science awards banquet. The active member with the most accumulated points at the end of the academic year will receive an award at the banquet for the dedication and contributions to Alpha Sigma Mu, and to the Michigan Materials Science and Engineering department.
