Unified Minority Mechanical Engineers was founded in 1995 under the name of Underrepresented Minority Mechanical Engineers. UMME's purpose then was to serve as a bridge for the minorities distanced from the successful graduation of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan.
Our symbol is the star because as leaders we are shooting for nothing less.
Today it is 2005 and UMME is moving forward and looking forward to a great year with you.
