Membership Requirements
Since January 2004, U of M SWE has implemented a new system for the levels of membership. There are now two levels, members and elevated members. The requirements for each are outlined below. Only elevated members may be considered for scholarships. All members of SWE are encouraged to become elevated members. If you have any questions about the requirements please contact the SWE E-Board at swe.eboard@umich.edu.

Members: To be considered a member of SWE, you must turn in the National SWE Membership form (or fill it out online), pay your dues to National SWE, and turn in a University of Michigan SWE form.

Elevated Members: To be considered an elevated member of SWE, you must be a member and you have to participate in 12 hours of SWE activities. You also need at least one hour from each of four committees: Industry, Outreach, CIS, and Public Relations. As an elevated member, you will be able to apply for SWE scholarships, submit your resume to the SWE Resume CD which is given to recruiters at the Career Fair and Corporate Information Sessions, and attend the elevated member end of the year social event.

Membership Raffle
To show our appreciation for all the time you dedicate to SWE, we will be holding a monthly raffle to give you the chance to win gift certificates to local businesses. For every hour you participate each month you will receive an entry into the raffle. We will draw for the winners at every other general SWE meeting. You will not have to be present to win. If you have any questions regarding the raffle please let the SWE E-Board know, (swe.eboard@umich.edu).
