Having Fun at Skate Night
After a hard semester of studying we all got out and went to Yost Arena for a skate night with some of the people from INFORMS. Here's a couple of our members hockey-stopping like the pros.
Bad Designs Contest Gets Some Press

Congratulations to the Contest Winners
We received over 30 submissions for the Bad Designs on Campus contest from students in all disciplines. You can see what people submitted as bad designs here. Congratulations to the three winners, as selected by the HFES members, of the contest: Megan Haubert, Everett Gu, and Mike Rose.
Practice Talks for the HFES Conference
On Wednesday October 11th at 5pm, we will be holding a practice session where presenters can give their research talks to an audience and receive feedback. If you are interested in presenting, e-mail hfes.pres@umich.edu.
Bad Designs on Campus for National Ergonomics Month
National Ergonomics Month is October and to raise awareness of ergo issues around campus, we will be sponsoring a 'bad designs on campus' contest. Check out all the details here and keep your eyes peeled for poor designs around campus.
Welcome Back Picnic/Annual Conference Planning
The welcome back picnic will be on September 12th at 5pm. The picnic will take place outside of the IOE building by the fountain. Sandwiches will be provided and we will discuss some events we've got planned for this fall. We will also be having a meeting afterwards to coordinate travel plans for the Annual Conference in October.
