Pierpont Commons Cafe
Problem description: Heres the deal. Every day, hundreds of intelligent professors and students pass through the Pierpont Commons Cafe. When they finish eating, they have to walk to the far end of the room to drop off their tray, then to the opposite end to exit the cafe. This wastes about 150 feet of walking, about 30 seconds of time. A professor who makes $90K per year, makes ~ $45/hr, loses 37.5 c per day, or about $115 per school year. $155 * 100 persons = $11,500 per school year of the university's money, and simply moving the tray drop off near the exit, would solve this problem.
