3/3/08 ANS Student Conference

The ANS student conference at Texas A & M was excellent. We brought 14 students and gave 3 presentations. Doug Fynan presented Coffinitization of Uraninite in Oklo samples, Seth Johnson presented some work in slowing-down theory, and Nick Touran presented a utility to automate fast reactor calculations.

Thank you, Texas A & M for hosting such a wonderful student conference. We also congratulate the University of Florida on winning the conference for next year.

2/11/08 DC Cook Tour

Lots of action has been going on at the UM ANS. A large group of us travelled to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Plant for a tour. Thanks a lot to AEP and to Andy Zuber for doing this for us.

Basketball

Our team, Gone Fission, had a stupendous season in the Men’s B league this year. The competition was tough, and we ended up losing to an INCREDIBLY strong team. We were great though, you should see us. Great job!

Indoor soccer

We lost in the first game of the playoffs to a very strong team. It was a great season.

IM Soccer

We had a co-ed soccer team playing the regular season on Mondays at 5:30pm. It was at Mitchell Field [map].
