Crime Prevention

Crime prevention is the attempt to reduce victimization and to deter crime and criminals.
Examples include:

  • Stolen purse
  • Laptop
  • Robbery
  • Rape

Contact:
For crimes in progress, call 911. Do not attempt to stop it.

  • To report a crime that already occurred, call DPS, 763-1131. Report the following information:
    • Your name and location
    • Describe what you think happened, or what was taken, and how long you think it has been missing

Procedures:
To prevent theft, make sure that doors are shut and locked behind you when you leave. Valuable personal property should be kept on your person or in locked drawers or in cabinets.
Report any lost or stolen keys immediately to the appropriate Department manager.
