Susan Montgomery


Quickie bio:

I'm an assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan, and director of its Multimedia Education Laboratory . But you can read about all those things in my "official" home page.

I was born in Peru , where I lived until I was 10. My family then moved to Nicaragua, which we left once the civil war started. We then moved to Ann Arbor. I graduated from Pioneer High School in 1981, U of Michigan Chemical Engineering in 1984, married Sean Montgomery (UM ChE '84) in 1985, and got a PhD in ChE fromPrinceton in 1991. I did a postdoc with Scott Fogler. here at Michigan for two years, and in the Fall 1993 became a faculty member here... Ian Christopher Montgomery was born Dec. 13, 1993:

Things I do at work:


I teach ChE 230 , the introductory chemical engineering course
I am Faculty Advisor to Mike Neylon, Arturo Esquinca, and Ken Wong.
I head the Multimedia Education Laboratory of the ChE dept.
I am co-advisor to the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers student chapter
I am advisor to the student chapter of ASEE, the American Society for Engineering Education
I am advisor to the Chemical Engineering Honor Society
