Electrons in solids travel hundreds of times slower than light, and therefore electron dynamics in micro- and nanostructures typically fall in the THz frequency region. This creates opportunities to use THz technique to directly probe carrier transport at picosecond timescale in nanostructures. In return, exploration of THz nanoelectronics will also open up the possibilities for novel THz applications.

Our group explores both fundamental science and potential applications of ultrafast nanoelectronics, with particular interests in carbon nanotube and graphene based THz nanoelectronics. We are also interested in utilizing ultrafast nanoelectronics for sensing applications.
