Short bio

Dr. Bixue Hou joined the Center for Ultrafast Optical Science at University of Michigan in 2001. His research is in the area of the high power ultrafast laser and laser-plasma interaction at relativistic intensities, including: the generation of hard x-ray and their applications in medical and material science; the generation of extreme ultraviolet light and attosecond light pulses; and the generation of energetic electron and potentially position. He is currently in charge of the operation, maintenance, upgrade of the "Labmda-Cubed" laser which is running at relativistic focal intensity with high repetition rate.
