This talk will overview
the main problems, methods, and results on analysis and design of production
systems, such as those found in the automotive, computer and other large volume
manufacturing industries. We will present solutions to many practical problems
(including designing lean systems and improving existing ones) developed at UM
during the last decade. Numerous open research problems will also be mentioned.
