Abstract:
RoboCup is an international
organization aimed at fostering research in Robotics and AI through a range of
challenging standard problems, such as autonomous robotic soccer. The standard
platform league is one aspect of this league where the hardware is completely
specified, and teams compete on the basis of the different software algorithms.
In this talk, I will discuss the background of the competition, challenges and
some results from systems & control research that have been of particular
value to this competition. In particular I will look at estimation problems and
some solutions that arise in localization using vision and odometry data.
