Michigan Engineering Fund
Instrument of Opportunity
Each year, the Michigan Engineering Fund makes many, many things possible…
Undergraduates receive scholarships worth $300,000 every year.
New engineering courses broaden students’ horizons.
The Mini Baja team builds an off-road vehicle for competitions
that feature a number of high-performance tests. An engineering
sales presentation is also part of each competition.
Modern labs and facilities are the scene of cutting-edge research.
Outreach programs enhance Michigan Engineering’s standing in
the community and the world. They also enrich students’ lives,
making their educations more well-rounded.
A high-frequency tower on the Electrical Engineering and
Computer Science Building heightens the learning
experience, be it in the classroom or in the lab.
The Levin Challenge accomplished its goal of raising $1 million
in new and increased gifts and pledges. Jerry Levin (BSE EE ’66,
BSE M ’67) said he created the Challenge with the hope that it
would motivate alumni to give to the MEF. The Levin Challenge
matched all new gifts and the additional portion of increased gifts
to the Michigan Engineering Fund on a 2:1 match basis, regardless
of gift size. So, for every new or additional dollar, up to $1 million,
the Levin Challenge added $2 to the MEF, resulting in $3 million
of total new resources.
