The Center for Entrepreneurship
By Bill Clayton
This is a new era of innovation and entrepreneurship. People with good ideas are succeeding as never before – if they have a passion for innovation, the drive to develop ideas into enterprise, and the right resources: funding, people, advice, information, equipment, encouragement, networking, constructive criticism and a bit of luck.
“In response to the needs of entrepreneurs and budding entrepreneurs, we created the Center for Entrepreneurship, which can provide all of those resources – except the luck,” said Thomas Zurbuchen, the Center’s director and an associate professor in the departments of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences, and Aerospace Engineering. He has his own entrepreneurial passion: making the Center a success. “We supply everything but the passion and perseverance that entrepreneurs need for success. We can help them assess ideas and evaluate risks, give them continuing education and faculty experts to consult, as well as legal advice and connections to potential partners. We can help them to become one of those people who start up hundreds of thousands of new businesses each year in the United States. We’re one-stop shopping for innovative people who want to bring their ideas to market – we offer everything they need.”
