The gravity of environmental issues can get lost in statistics. Putting a human face on statistics is particularly poignant when talking about the environment. For example… Water pollution kills 2.2 million people each year - that's the equivalent of wiping out the population of Toronto every 365 days. About 4.6 million people - nearly enough to populate Los Angeles and Detroit - die each year from causes directly attributable to air pollution.
