The 150th Anniversary Campaign

Progress and Promise LogoThe Progress & Promise 150th Anniversary Campaign kicked off officially on May 14, 2004. The Campaign's theme acknowledges the undisputed progress Michigan Engineering has made and fostered during the last 150 years, and its bright promise for generations to come. In order to maintain its leadership and reach the next level of excellence, Michigan Engineering must undertake major new and innovative initiatives that address the changing educational and research environments and the significant challenges society will face in the future.

To achieve these objectives, the Progress & Promise: 150th Anniversary Campaign has an ambitious goal of $300 million by 2008. As of June 30, 2004, $134 million in gifts and pledges had already been raised. And the College has recorded an additional $16 million in bequest expectancies. The faculty/staff phase of the 150th Anniversary Campaign yielded 41 Charter Donors, each of whom has pledged a gift of $10,000 or more. A substantial number of other faculty and staff made commitments to the effort. There's a talented team of volunteers leading the 150th Anniversary campaign fundraising efforts.

Ann Lurie (LLD hon. '03), president of Lurie Investments, and John Tishman (BSE EE '46, D.Eng. hon. '00), chairman and chief executive officer of Tishman Realty & Construction Company, Inc., are honorary co-chairs of the campaign. Ann LurieTishman
