Aerospace Engineering Selected for Collaborative Center

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has selected a CoE-led team to establish the Michigan/AFRL Collaborative Center in Aeronautical Sciences (MACCAS). The MACCAS will establish, sustain and amplify an internationally recognized center of excellence in computational aeronautical sciences research and education through strategic, robust interaction between the faculty and students and AFRL.

The MACCAS consists of the following Aerospace Engineering faculty: Wei Shyy (PI), Clarence L "Kelly" Johnson Collegiate Professor of Aerospace Engineering; Professor Iain Boyd; Associate Professor Carlos Cesnik; Professor Werner Dahm; Peretz Friedmann, Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Professor of Aerospace Engineering; Associate Professor Hong Im; Ken Powell, Arthur F Thurnau Professor and Director, Center for Advanced Computing; Professor Phil Roe and Professor Bram van Leer).

Three faculty colleagues from Michigan State University will join CoE faculty in the MACCAS.
