The Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, invites applicants to apply for a full-time, tenure track, faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level.
The department seeks applicants in all areas of naval architecture and marine engineering, including acoustics and vibration, marine hydrodynamics, marine design, dynamic control and systems response, fluid-structure interactions, marine engineering, marine robotics and autonomy, naval engineering, offshore engineering, and structural mechanics.
Candidates are required to have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline. The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent research program and to contribute effectively to the department’s undergraduate and graduate teaching programs. The College of Engineering is especially interested in candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
