The Retractable Running Board
The Retractable Running Board conceals itself under the vehicle when not in use and
exposes itself when needed by the passengers. A running board is essential to
aid elderly and physically handicapped passengers / drivers in getting into the
vehicle. Due to this requirement, hiding the running board while the vehicle is
in motion improves the visual appearance of the car. The Retractable Running
Board was created by students Jewon Lee, Jeff Hanna and Evan Sonderman in winter
2003, instructors: Professor Sridhar Kota and Teaching Assistant Charles Kim.
