Welcome to ME 589 ! In this class you will learn about the grand challenges associated with sustainability, including energy, water, materials, pollution and climate change. You will learn about how these challenges are leveraged by engineering design decisions, and take away from this course methods for sustainable design and systems analysis. The course has 3 parts: grand challenges, analysis tools and models, and case studies. The case studies are focused on the fields of buildings, manufacturing, transportation, and consumer products. |
