OIP Programs
Office of International Programs (OIP)
After you have explored the College of Engineering IPE Programs, you may also want to consider programs offered by the International Programs (OIP) on Central Campus. The OIP serves the entire undergraduate campus population but has programs mainly related to students studying in the College of LSA. We encourage students to consider OIP programs in addition to the IPE programs for the following reasons:

OIP offers a multitude of summer programs

OIP offers programs in some countries where there are no IPE programs

OIP offers many programs that are personally directed by UM faculty or directors on-site in the host country

OIP offers many programs that would allow students to fulfill their humanities/social science requirements

OIP programs will ensure that you are with other UM students on your overseas sojourn (this may be important for some students)
Engineering students considering an OIP program should be aware that there are special guidelines for engineering students studying through OIP Programs:
- You must submit a Statement of Intent to Study Abroad Form (Submit this to our office as soon as you apply to an OIP Program)
- Meet with an IPE Peer Advisor for information specific to OIP programs.
