Overseas Experience
Students are required to gain overseas experience through study abroad or participating in an overseas internship. The length of the experience must be at least eight weeks, but many students choose a full semester or full-year experience.
Study Abroad
Study abroad involves taking courses at one of the College of Engineering partner universities or at another overseas institution, which must be previously approved by an IPE advisor. Students may elect to study abroad for one semester, one academic year, or during summer term. Please visit our Study Abroad site for further information.
Work Abroad
A variety of resources are available to assist students in finding an overseas internship placement. Work abroad agencies will match students with internships based on their technical background and desired destination. The IPE Office will assist students as they develop their strategy for finding valuable work experience overseas. Please visit our Work Abroad site for further information. Internships and other work experiences must be approved by the IPE advisor prior to departure.
