Cristina Lopez Fagundo is originally from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.  She attends the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, and plans to apply to the Biomedical Engineering department here at UM.  Her research focus will be on tissue engineering, stem cells, and biotechnology.  Cristina is interested in UM because it has a competitive program she wants to take full advantage of.
